Last year I had the pleasure of having a house built by Andrew Harshman of Drewco Homes, LLS of Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Although it was my first experience in having my own home built, Andrew was not the first contractor I have dealt with. Besides remodels on my prior home, I had initially engaged another contractor for the purpose in building a new home which Andrew ultimately built for me. So I do have valid comparisons to offer.

The first contractor I engaged to build this lovely home was not helpful in supplying my lender with the information required by them in order for me to obtain the necessary funding for this project. As a result, I ended up canceling the project at that time and started over. I began looking for other contractors in the area and had for responses to my request for bids, one of which was from Drewco Homes, LLS.

For a number of reasons but primarily because Andrew was very responsive to my questions and needs, and, of course, because his bid was very competitive, I accepted the bid from Drewco Homes and proceeded with the project. There was no problem with the funding this time, because Andrew was very forthcoming with all information required by my lender. He took the plans through the permitting process with no problems.

Throughout the building project, Andrew was extremely helpful, patient, and responsive to questions, phone calls, and special requests. As my sister and I were going to share this house, we had special needs for ease of access such as no thresholds and wide doorways. In addition, we each had our own preferences regarding our individual spaces. Andrew was always available to us by phone or in person. If he did not answer his phone and we left a message he would always get back to us the same day. We were never made to feel that we were imposing on him or his time. Although our arrangement was formal and we had a contract which set forth our respective duties, there was a friendliness that was very comforting during what could easily have been a stressful process.

The house was completed within the time frame given and to the standard indicated. Andrew and his sub-contractors were all very professional, did a great job, and left the premises in good condition. We were at the job site every day and were always made welcome and never made to feel that we were in the way or interfering. When we made changes, we were treated with respect. When we made changes that required a change order, the changes were put into writing with the cost set forth, and my signature required. No surprises! Very professional.

If I were to have another house built, or any project requiring a licensed contractor, Andrew Harshman of Drewco Homes, LLC would be my first choice. I recommend Drewco Homes, LLC without any reservation to anyone contemplating a building project.
